First-year students attending Highlander Orientation should be sure to stop by Transportation Services’ booth during the Involvement Fairs this summer. Staff will be on hand to provide information on everything parking and transportation related at UCR. Some of the offered resources are:

RTA UPASS Program:  All students can register for a free bus pass which is good for unlimited rides on all RTA fixed routes. Step-by-step instructions on how to register.

Metrolink Discounts:  Metrolink provides an on-going 25% student discount. Just select the “Student Fare” when purchasing your ticket at the station kiosk or on the Metrolink app. If you travel on weekends, you can take advantage of their $10 weekend day pass.

ZipCar:  Rent cars by the hour or day with a ZipCar membership. Rental fees cover the cost of gas, insurance, and mileage up to 180 miles per day. Cars are located right on campus and can be reserved in advance online.

Biking:  Transportation Services supports an internal bike registry system and recommends that bicyclists register their bikes. State of California bike license and registration stickers are provided at no cost to enrolled students.
